Post-Publication Discussion

Acta Biochimica Indonesiana (ActaBioIna) recognizes that scientific communication continues beyond the publication of research findings.

Post-publication discussion is an essential component of scholarly communication, allowing researchers and readers to critically evaluate published studies, exchange scientific perspectives, identify potential limitations, and contribute to the ongoing development of knowledge.

The journal supports constructive, evidence-based discussion concerning articles published in ActaBioIna.

1. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion

Post-publication discussions may address the interpretation of research findings, experimental methodologies, statistical analyses, reproducibility, scientific limitations, or other matters relevant to the conclusions of published articles.

The journal welcomes scholarly comments, methodological critiques, requests for clarification, and evidence-supported alternative interpretations.

All discussions should contribute meaningfully to scientific understanding and maintain appropriate academic standards.

2. Submission of Comments and Concerns

Readers, researchers, and other interested parties may submit post-publication comments or concerns to the Editorial Office through the journal's official contact channels.

Submissions should clearly identify the relevant published article, including its title, authors, and DOI or publication details when available.

Comments should provide a clear explanation of the scientific issue, supported by relevant evidence, references, or analyses.

Submissions containing personal attacks, discriminatory statements, unsupported accusations, or inappropriate language will not be considered for publication.

3. Editorial Evaluation

The Editorial Board will assess submitted comments to determine their scientific relevance, accuracy, and significance.

Where appropriate, the journal may invite the original authors to respond or request an independent expert assessment.

Scientific comments and author responses may be published as formal correspondence or other appropriate scholarly communications, subject to editorial evaluation.

Publication of a discussion or response is at the discretion of the Editorial Board.

4. Concerns Affecting Research Integrity

If a post-publication discussion raises substantial concerns about the reliability, validity, or ethical integrity of an article, the matter will be examined according to the journal's Research Misconduct Policy and Corrections and Retractions Policy.

Depending on the findings, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction.

5. Commitment to Scientific Dialogue

ActaBioIna encourages respectful and transparent scientific debate while safeguarding the rights and reputations of authors, reviewers, and readers.

The journal seeks to ensure that post-publication discussions improve the quality, reliability, and interpretation of published research.
